2021 in Construction Law – the year in review

The Society of Construction Law Hong Kong invites you to an evening webinar looking back over 2021 in construction law. Join our panel of four preeminent English silks as they review key decisions, their consequences for construction and legal professionals, and consider issues to watch in 2022.

Our speakers are:

Sean Brannigan QC is one of the leading silks at the commercial bar and is renowned for his exceptional advocacy, particularly across the practice areas of energy, construction and engineering, and professional negligence. He is most regularly instructed in large scale international and domestic litigation and arbitrations where teamwork, together with detailed and effective cross examination and other advocacy is required. His clients include UK and foreign governments and many of the world’s largest construction companies. Sean has twice been awarded the title of the Legal 500 ‘Projects and Energy Silk of the Year’ and has also been awarded the Chambers & Partners ‘Construction Silk of the Year’.

Ben Pilling QC is an experienced silk with an extensive international practice. He is regularly instructed in difficult, high value and sometimes business-threatening cases. In recent years he has argued cases governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Nigeria and France, and has conducted cases under the rules of all the major international arbitral institutions. Ben is praised in the legal directories for being an “outstandingly bright lawyer”, for getting across new issues at “lightning speed”, and as an “exceptionally good cross-examiner”.
